Hunter Consulting Connection Problem Resolutions

Back to Client Access

We have currently updated our web site/Servers.  Unfortunately, only Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6.0 browsers and newer are supported. First Time Users - If this is the first time accessing our software, your browser will need to be configured to access our software package.  The first step is to change the security settings.  New installations of Microsoft Internet Explorer with the Internet Security may already prompt you to add our site to your trusted list, but in either case, you will need to check to verify that the site was correctly added.

First, go to Tools, then Internet Options.  From that page,  select the Security Page, then Trusted sites.

Now, Click on Sites, then in the box to Add this site to this Zone, enter http://www.hunterconsulting.com.  Making sure that the Require Server Verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is disabled, then click O.K.

Now, click on Client Access, you will be asked to install an Active X control.  The page should look like this:

Click on the bar to install the ActiveX Control.  I you are not able to install the ActiveX control, you may have a similar screen, but it will look like below that means that the page was not properly registered as a Trusted Site. You receive the following message to install ActiveX, click Install to install:

Once the installation is complete, the page should open up with a Terminal Server Login Screen in the Center. If you are still having trouble making the connection, Windows XP and Vista Users can use Remote Desktop Connection under Start, Programs, Accessories, Communications, and point it to www.hunterconsulting.com:3390  or 1494 or 430, or Start, Run, then enter in mstsc /v:www.hunterconsulting.com:3390 or 1494, then O.K.  If this works, then there is a browser compatibility issue or security settings issue.  At this point, you could try to reset the security settings for the Trusted Sites to Default.

If the above method does not work, then you will need to check with your Network Administrator to see if the following port is open on your Firewall
