A program designed to offer Ohio employers discounts on workers’ compensation premiums

What Is It?

New employers have an opportunity to join a group-experience-rating program and receive a premium discount – potentially up to 53 percent. To be eligible for inclusion in group-experience rating, you must appear on a submitted group roster within 30 days of the date we assigned you a policy number.

Who is Eligible?

BWC defines a new employer as a new business entity or an out-of-state business that creates one or more jobs in Ohio. The following are not eligible for the program: professional employer organizations (PEOs), alternate employer organizations (AEOs), self-insuring employers, and employers transferring experience.

Group Rating Programs

Up to 53% Premium Discount

When you join Grow Ohio, you’re eligible for an automatic 25% discount on your workers’ compensation premiums for your first year. This provides significant upfront savings while giving you time to set up your safety and risk management strategies.

As an alternative to the 25% discount, new employers may qualify for a group rating program, which could offer even greater savings.
